ATL Punk: the genre

A new sound has emerged from the South.. a sub-genre bridging the Atlanta Punk scene and Trap vibrations, ATL Punk mixes Pop Punk-style repetitive guitar riffs, high energy drums, and that sweet 808, usually featuring an artist out of the Atlanta rap scene.

This concept was recently displayed on Friends With Giants: The Adventures Of Roswell Grey, the latest release from Atlanta producer Jeanyus. Songs like PHERAMONES and RED EYES showcase the raw intensity of the artist, or SICKLINE, where Rizzo G.U.N. gives a literal “fuck you” and holds the rebellious nature, or BLACKOUT where HoodFairy holds down the real ATL rap flows.
